Rockbridge Mills was the name of the mill and settlement in 1826. A covered bridge with massive rock abutments was built to span the Macoupin Creek, and so in 1849 the post office and town became known as Rockbridge. Rockbridge had large and active stockyards until the 1930’s. It now has new factory – Rockbridge Casting Company. |
